The Life You Want — 002

Success is subjective

Hey you,

Welcome to the 2nd edition of The Life You Want.

Every edition will challenge what you’ve heard. Enough yapping, lets jump in.

Success is something everyone wants

We all want to be successful in life.

If any person were given the choice of being successful, they would choose without thinking twice.

Look around, people are willing to literally slave their lives away to get a taste of success.

They do all sorts of good and bad deeds to become successful.

But why do people who we consider successful still feel unhappy?

Why do depressed millionaires exist?

Why do they still chase more even when they are successful?

The reason is they don’t have peace of mind.

“Success can never satisfy a person if it does not bestow peace of mind.”

Now let’s come to the other side of the equation.

What is success?

For person A it might be yachts, fancy dinners and penthouses.

For person B it might be a quiet life with their kids.

For person C it might be visiting every country before they die.

So which person is right?

None of them?

All of them.

Success is something we define for ourselves.

Your definition of success varies from mine and that is fine.

Neither of us is right or wrong. We are just different.

You see where I’m getting at?

Oh? no? Let me spell it out for you.

Success is subjective.

We choose what makes us feel successful.

Now I am not going to lecture you on what to set for your definition of success.

But all I am saying is, be careful on what you set it to.

Because it determines your path forward.

Now going back to the previous quote:

“Success can never satisfy a person if it does not bestow peace of mind.”

Since life has given you the gift of choosing what success means to you.

Choose something that will bestow peace of mind.

Choose your success.

Chase that vision.

Bestow peace of mind upon yourself.
